1. General Business Meeting—election of officers
2. ASHA Advisory Council—Starting in 2009, ASHA created Advisory Council to replace Legislative Council. Jan Westerhouse, DSHA’s Legislative Councilor will review the final actions of Legislative Council and introduce Michelle Poynton-Marsh, Delaware’s representative to ASHA’s Advisory Council.
3. SpeechEasy Presentation—Illene Courtright, CCC-SLP, a Board Recognized Specialist in Fluency Disorders and a Certified Provider of SpeechEasy™ will present information on this fluency-enhancing device for people who stutter. The SpeechEasy™ has been developed based on a well-documented phenomenon called the “choral effect.” Research on the SpeechEasy™, videos of people using the SpeechEasy™, a display of various SpeechEasy™ models, information about an evaluation, funding sources, and follow-up therapy techniques for successful use of a SpeechEasy™ will be presented.
* Directions to the Center for Disabilities Studies (CDS)—turn in the driveway between the Early Learning Center and Institute of Energy Conservation. CDS is the last building on the driveway. Parking is available at CDS and is free.
